Industry and audience power essay

“The internet has given audiences much more power than ever before.” To what extent do you agree with this statement?

I strongly agree with this quote because in recent years there has been a rise of unemployed workers making there own businesses online making it be food services to clothing brands . Also people promoting there own musical talents or talent , increasing there fan base and popularity .In my opinion i think the internet has made audiences have more power than producers people can produce there own brands or promote there talents which can then force producers to sign or cooperate with the self/home worked talents/brands.

Music and industry-

Personally, i think the rise of the use of internet has benefited the music industry this is because various music platforms have now used the internet to produce other artists music Also it has benefited artists who have produced their talent from home therefore making a fan base for themselves . However it would not benefit music record or companies as they would not get as money as people can now produce their own music from their own music platforms or you tube unless the sign them to their record , also if artists produce music on platforms you have to pay to listen to they might not get enough income as people might have the money.

Film and television-

Film and Television changes due to the internet are wider content of shows, technology has improved and can access service from apps.The advantages of film and television are watch it anywhere at anytime on different types devices.Also the is more variety with films and TV and people are not just restricted to things like TV and cinemas.how disadvantages may be that you have to pay for subscription  and people may not be comfortable with technology (older ages). some shows take way to long for a new series to get released.

Print (newspapers)-

The changes due to the internet are there is a rise in technology,there are untrustworthy politicians and there are more live streaming services. The advantages for newspapers are that they are always up date because there is daily news e.g The Sun , Daily Mirror also there are apps such as Instagram that allow you to access news around the world this has benefited the news as most people around the world are on their phones 24/7 therefore they can contact other sources to get further updates because they want the latest news and headlines. The disadvantages for newspaper are that it could be fake news because they want to make drama or they are losing sales they are also do not get enough profit because of how social media spreads news around weekly this means that in the modern world newspapers are out out of date in addition older people may not be familiar with this technology era . Also you have to pay for newspapers weekly this might have helped some people

In conclusion ,The internet does makes the audience more powerful because the are various ways to get your word or talents the world  across due to the fact of social media being a big accessory to this generation . Also because people can interpret ways to hack and spread fake drama which could concern the audience to speak which gives them the power due to consumers being able to upload things and share their opinions. The internet has had a big influence to this generation giving them more power.
